Appearances
Katie Dallam's inspiring story of courage and survival, believed to have been the basis for the Academy-Award winning film "Million Dollar Baby", has made her a sought after speaker. Though she doesn't like to travel, she makes some exceptions for worthy causes.
Previous Speaking Engagements
October 3, 2005: Brain Injury Association of Missouri's annual fall Conference - Tan Tara in the Lake of the Ozarks. Katie and her sister Stephanie were featured speakers. They discussed rehabilitation from both the patient and family perspective and ended their talk with a slide show of Katie's artwork, explaining how the pictures related to Katie's injury and recovery process.
May 25, 2005: MAB's Gala fundraiser - Boston, MA. Katie was the Guest of Honor at
MAB's Gala fundraiser for The Ivy Street School - Brookline, MA - one of the nation's only schools for children with aquired brain injuries.
Before her talk, Katie visited the school and met the students. The children seemed eager to talk to someone who had experienced challenges similar to their own and Katie was touched by each of their struggles. |
