Katie was a featured artist in the first major American surveys of contemporary art about disability.. From the Brochure: Humans Being: Disability in Contemporary Art is a ground-breaking exhibition that will be a cornerstone of Bodies of Work: The Chicago Festival of Disability Arts and Culture, the city's first-ever multi-venue festival showcasing work by professional artists with disabilities.
The show aims to be a complex and serious conversation about how disability is both understood and misunderstood by the culture at large. It will include paintings, sculpture, photography, installation and samples of graphic novels by more than 20 artists-both disabled and non-disabled-and will explore issues of illness, impairment, discrimination, alienation, sexuality, community, identity and the political aspects of disability. Katie Dallam's inspiring story of courage and survival, believed to have been the basis for the Academy-Award winning film "Million Dollar Baby", is chronicled in "Katie Dallam: Shadowboxing", a multimedia exhibition of Dallam's visual artwork of the past 15 years. Numerous works are on public display for the first time.

Johnson County Community College did a showing of Katie's artwork in the student gallery in their Student Center. The show was titled""Before and After"
. It included examples of her work before her brain injury and examples of her work completed in the years since the fight.
